Paul is a solicitor (1980), an accredited mediator (2002), and a Chartered Arbitrator (2006). He was appointed a Deputy District Judge in 1997.

He is a Rregistered Contentious Trust and Probate specialist (ACTAPS) and a member of the Property Litigation Association.

As an active mediator Paul undertakes some three mediations a month.
