Frequently Asked Questions
What if we have paid our fees but settle the case before the Mediation starts?
Excellent! Settlement is the aim of the mediation process so if you can do it on your own so much the better. Very often it is the prospect of attending the mediation which causes the parties to look at settlement - rather in the way that a looming trial date concentrates the attention. For that reason we still charge a fee, but if the settlement is reached more than 10 working days before the date set for the mediation, and the mediator has not commenced preparatory work, we will normally refund part of the fee.
If this happens please let us know as soon as possible to avoid us incurring any further costs, such as room hire, which we would otherwise require you to pay.
